This could also effect PCs with USB 3 ports as it appears that the HEX is not compatible with USB 3 for some reason. So, it seems that, for whatever reason, the HEX USB dongle doesn't play nicely or switch down when connected to a USB 3 port but works fine when a USB 2 hub is used to force the downgrade. I connected an old USB 2 hub to the MacBook Pro, connected the USB dongle to that hub and it appeared in the system report and then worked in the virtual machine. After much pratting about, rebooting machines, disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connector I still had no joy with the USB device not even being listed in the available devices.Ī month or so ago I'd upgraded my Macbook Pro to a new one which lists it's USB ports/hubs as USB3 and this is the first time I've used it with VCDS so figured it's not a coincidence.
